The Art of Conduction ®
Lawrence D. "Butch" Morris is presenting workshops at the student and masters level.

Conduction is a link between notation, improvisation, interpretation and conducting. By returning the composer to the conductor's podium, and by infusing the qualities of improvisation with the capacities of interpretation, Butch Morris has charted a new horizon for contemporary music.

In performance, he asks of the ensemble new aptitudes, strategies, and capacities. In workshop, he develops the artistry of the ensemble to best capitalize on the musical traditions or cultures at hand and the ability of each individual musician to meaningfully contribute to the collective. It is, from beginning to end, an educative medium, often with exceptional results.

You are encouraged to follow the links at the bottom of this announcement for detailed information on how you and your ensemble can help broaden the realm of musical possibility while strengthening musicianship.

Conduction is a supplement to music, a theoretically consistent catalyst available for the asking to any who would hear in their music an opening into historically unprecedented dimensions of expression.
